Non-emergency medical transport

Getting there should be the easy part

Wheelchair-accessible transport to appointments, treatment, discharge and the airport — on Hawaiʻi Island, for residents and visitors alike. Scheduled in advance, on time, and with a hand at both ends.

What we cover

Trips we run every week

If it is a scheduled ride in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle and it is not an emergency, it is probably something we can do. If it is an emergency, call 911 — we are not an ambulance.

Medical & dental appointments

Specialists, imaging, labs, physical therapy, dental and vision — in Hilo, Waimea, Kona or wherever the referral sends you.

Dialysis & recurring treatment

Standing weekly schedules with the same driver and the same vehicle, so nothing has to be re-explained every time.

Hospital discharge

Home, to a care home, or to family. We will work with the discharge planner and hold flexible timing for the day it actually happens.

Care home & facility transfers

Between facilities, or out for a family event, church, a haircut or a birthday. Dignity matters as much as the wheels do.

Hilo ↔ Kona medical runs

The cross-island appointment nobody wants to drive. Comfort stops built in, and family can ride along instead of following in a second car.

Airport arrivals & departures

ITO and KOA, with lift boarding kerbside and help with bags. We track your flight and adjust when it slips.

Boarding takes a couple of minutes. We never rush it.

What to expect

Door to door, not kerb to kerb

We come to the door, not to the end of the driveway. We help you out, onto the lift, and into a secured position — then reverse it at the other end and see you inside.

  1. We arrive early

Ten to fifteen minutes ahead of the pickup time, so nobody is watching the clock.

  2. Boarding at your pace

Lift down, roll on, lift up, four-point securement and an occupant belt. No transfers required.

  3. A calm, cool ride

Air conditioned, high roof, room for a companion beside you. We drive it like someone we love is in the back.

  4. We see you in

Into reception, into the home, into the ward. We do not leave anyone on a kerb.

  5. We wait, if you want

For shorter appointments we can stay on site rather than make you book a return trip separately.

Who we work with

Booked by families, and by the people who care for them

Individuals & families

Book directly, one trip at a time or on a standing schedule. Many of our riders are visitors whose condition makes a rental car impossible, and kamaʻāina who have simply stopped driving.

  • One-off trips or recurring weekly bookings
  • A family member or caregiver always rides free
  • Same driver wherever we can manage it

Care homes, hospitals & case managers

We hold recurring blocks for facilities and work with discharge planners on timing that moves. Set up an account once and book by phone or email after that.

  • Standing schedules and block bookings
  • Certificate of insurance on file — [limits TBD]
  • Invoicing terms: [terms TBD]

Payment

Non-emergency medical transport is currently [private pay / billing arrangements TBD]. Accepted methods: [card, check, ACH — TBD]. We will confirm the full cost in writing before the first trip, and standing bookings are invoiced [billing cycle TBD].

Booking & cancellation

Please give us [lead time TBD] where you can, though we will always try to cover a same-day discharge. Cancellations: [cancellation policy TBD]. Recurring bookings can be paused any time you are in hospital or off island.

Important

What we are not

We are a non-emergency transport service. We are not an ambulance and we do not provide medical care. Specifically:

  • We do not transport anyone who needs monitoring, oxygen administration or treatment en route.
  • We do not provide stretcher or gurney transport [confirm — TBD].
  • Our drivers are not medical personnel. They hold [driver certifications TBD].
  • In a medical emergency, call 911. Do not call us.

If you are unsure whether your situation fits, call and describe it. We would far rather send you to the right service than take a booking we should not.

Set up your first ride.

Tell us the appointment, the address and the equipment you use. We will confirm the time, the cost and the plan in writing before anyone gets in the van.
